Oil Pressure Gauge 4JG2

Postby JBjunior » Mon Apr 21, 2014 12:39 pm

Where is the oil pressure gauge line usually connected on the 4JG2? I have an aftermarket gauge to install but not sure exactly where to install it.

is this an electric guage with a separate sender or a mechanical guage using a capilary line to the engine?

Right now I have the mechanical gauge that has a fitting on it for attaching but I could purchase whatever is required.

Factory guage has an electric sender near the starter motor If your fitting screws in there all should be good if not the factory sender might work with the existing original guage which would be great if it does. Nice and tidy

Thanks geeves, I will take a look at it. I am not sure what usually connects to those factory connections, as in where to buy them to wire up stuff myself.

Geeves, for the sender near the starter it is a single wire. Does that go to an actual factory gauge or a dummy light usually?

To make it more simple, does the mu/bighorn with the 3.1 have an oil pressure light or oil pressure gauge on the cluster?

For reference later on, it is a combined unit for the gauge and the light.

Also, the upper part of it with the wire coming off of it is the gauge and the slide on connection is the light.
