Oil Capicity

Postby MARKx4 » Wed Sep 23, 2009 8:38 pm

Just wondering how much oil the 4jb1t takes when doing a oil change with filter?

Mark.

Sorry, my personal records were wrong for some reason.

My engine manual has these values from dry:
4JB1T - 6.5L
4JA1T - 6.5L
4JG2T (4x2) - 6.5L
4JG2T (4x4) - 7.3L

Good catch!

There are 2 sumps on the 4jb1. One holds 4.9 liters the other just over 6. Dont know how to tell them apart. Do not ever overfill an isuzu engine. It will leak
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Yeah, have to agree with the 5L for a 4jb1, fills it to just below full on dipstick.
Cheers,
Andrew
