Fuel economy

Postby mh1989 » Mon May 27, 2019 3:45 pm

What sort of fuel economy should i be expecting from my 1992 4jb1t rodeo? At the moment i am getting 9.5-10l/100km all easy open rd running. Its completely standard, does 3000rpm at 100km on the gps which I guess wont be helping much. Just seems a bit high. I was expecting it to do 8l/100km

put taller tyres on it you should be better although you have a higher speed limit?
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

I have picked up some wider rims and will get some 265/75/16 (32") on them and that should drop the revs down a little. It has 225/75/16 (29") on there now. But cant see it making that much of a difference and will probably hurt the mileage around town

1992 Mu. 4Jb1t. Manual.

I get almost exactly 10l/100km around town.

Usually around 9.2l/100km on a trip (100kph) and can get 8.9l/100km if staying under 100kph.

From memory my gearing gives 2750rpm @ 100kph.
