manual or auto? For auto use ATF for manual use the same oil you used in your gearbox. Book says use 15w40 engine oil in both cases fore the transfer case but most people use a 80w90 gear oil designed for 5 speed gearboxes in the gearbox and of course all Isuzu autos use Dexron3 atf. The viscosity rating on gear oils is different to engine oils and thickness wise 80w90 gear oil isnt much different to 15w40 engine oil . Only thing to watch is dont use extreme pressure or hypoid oils in a gearbox. The additives corrode brass syncro rings and the oil breaks down over 100C
