Went on line and checked out exhaust brakes, WOW expensive, around $1,000 for a cheap one, only one I could find for Isuzu is for their large trucks NPR, with a 4 cyl diesel and that is right from Isuzu, it didn't give any price, but I can imigine it won't be inexspensive.

That's another good Idea, lots of NPR's here in the states and their exhaust isn't any bigger than 3", I could look on ebay under used truck parts? thanks Geeves

went on line and found a guy that has new exhaust brakes on ebay that are for the International DT 466 diesels for $499.00, which is a damed good price as at the dealers they are over a $1000 , they fit a 3" pipe so one would work on a zu, still a little salty for me tho, don't know if any of you might be interested in them?? no controls, just the brake and the vacuum piston that works it.

The engines get used in other formats as well. the engine might be out off a small truck 2.5-3 tonne. An exhaust brake it is. I am searching, can come in handy on some long hill decents....( my 4jg2 came out of a forklift truck!)

Hi guys!

Im new in here, just looking around in the forum. I also have that exhaust brake on my Isuzu Pickup truck. It looks exactly the same as on the pics above. I'm from Sweden, though. Guess the brake where standard or optional on some markets, perhaps?

here's the one I picked up on ebay for $125, its 3" so I'm going to have to neck it down to fit my 2.5 but it should still work ok "I hope", it works off air pressure, I hooked it up to my compressor and found that as little as 35lbs close's it nicley. so what I need to do is get a small 12V compressor and a 12V air switch to cut the air to it off and on and I should be good to go.

cool looking unit wayne, soon you will need bigger truck to fit all this stuff in.. where will you mount air comp?? will like to see pics and your comments when done.

I am starting to run out of room under the bonnet as you can see, I've seen small, about the size of a football, 12V air compressors on ebay, around $60 for a good one and I also need at least a 1 Gal reserve air tank, I found a 12V air solinoid for $21and then a few odd exhaust parts should do it. I would like to mount it rite after the turbo, that's if I have the room?? we''ll see, its going to be tight, hopefully it will fit.
