4JB1 Injection Pump Problem

Postby steve67 » Sun Apr 26, 2020 1:44 pm

Hi Guys
I have replaced 4JH1 injection pump with used 4JB1 pump.
Engine starts and stops after 2 revolutions restarts straight away
and stops.Shows black smoke on start then smoke diminishes
as engine slows to stop.
I hot wired fuel cut off to eliminate that as a problem.
There are no fuel restrictions in the system.
Where and how do i test pressure from feed pump as i think
the pressure may be low.
Has any one encountered the same problem.
If i didn't have bad luck i would't have any luck at all.
Steve.

Has this setup been run before without issue or has it just been fitted? Does it have JH1 injectors still?

Thanks for reply
Has 4JBi injectors
Found this morning the throttle leaver has been swapped
by the guy i purchased pump from to use on his vehicle.
There was little or no spring tension to react against governor
even at full throttle if there had been a slight improvement
i would have twigged to the problem earlier.
I hope this can help someone in the future.
