Holden rodeo turbo on an isuzu Bighorn?

Postby OldTruck » Tue Sep 22, 2020 3:37 pm

Hi all, my turbo is making some bad wining noises and I need to replace it.
I have found a replacement that seems to be in good nick, but it's off a 2003 Holden Rodeo I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was a 4JB1T.

Does anyone know if it will fit my 95 Bighorn running a 4jg2?
Are there any differences i.e boost pressure?

Thanks for your help.

Are they both intercooled? Biggest differences are if its off a 4jb1 it will be a little smaller so better low power but less top end. Also the intake outlet is in a different place and although people have turned this it is not recommended and the better way is to adapt the pipework. I did the opposite in the Wizard I had . Turbo went and I put an intercooled set up turbo on with the intention of fitting an intercooler later. A couple of silicone pipes required to make it fit
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

03 is the change over of 4jb1 and 4jh1, the 4jb1 turbo wont fit your bighorn, bolt pattern to manifold is smaller and dump pipe is different, if 4jh1 turbo will bolt on will just have to play with the compressor cover to match up to your intercooler

I will pass on that turbo. It sounds like i would have to muck around with it to get it to work and it's a little undersize anyway.
Thanks for your help.
