Hi all
I have a 1995 mu with the 4jg2 3.1 with the 2.8 turbo on it (first one went bang)
my egt,s seem to get pretty close to 650 degrees (pre turbo) up hill towing and was wondering if the original 3.1 turbo had a bigger exhaust housing and if so would this help with egt Temps or if the mamba turbo was the way to go ?

I know 15psi is as high as you can go safely but maybe I can get there cooler aswell ?

You realize that's in US dollars?
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Yep. Which is sorta why I'm wondering if going back to the 3.1 turbo is a better idea although I know there not as reliable

Not as reliable means 160000 km unless you treat them with good oil idle down at end of trip and mainly long runs in which case you might get double that
