4JB1 timing case gasket replacement

Gday i have a leaking timing case to block gasket, wondering if the sump has to be removed to get the case off?

yes, best to remove the motor from the vechile, remove sump and complete front off the motor

I agree with Rob as this is what I did when I had the same issue.

There are people who claim to have done it without removing the engine though (personally I wouldn't try it).

I also did my front and rear crankshaft seals while the engine was out.
