What are the consequences of high oil pressure, over 80 psi/6kgcm2?

Could blow seals and cause more oil consumption. Why is it so high? Is it a gauge fault?

Cause me being a cleaver dick, changed the relief spring in the engine with no pressure. Forgot to take it out when I swapped bits to the new engine. Hits 100 psi until when cold and 2000 odd rpm. Warms up quick, then its normal.
