hi all
doing recon on 4jg2. cheaply i hope.
need cast iron liners to put in. chrome ones in it.

anyone know size of cast iron liner that would be needed.
see see bowden parts have them but no designation what would be destined for 4jg2
haven t seen any data on replacement liner size on internet.

and yes i could pull liner and measure etc. re invent the wheel.
but info should be around i thought so i can get ball rolling.

No idea if its any good but its a start
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

why do you want to go cast iron? just replace the chrome liners with new chrome ones. they are cheap enough

The biggest thing to remember is that one must be chrome the other steel. Iff rings are one the bore must be the other. Other than that cast are cheaper but they are thicker than chrome so you have to line bore the block. Then you must hone to final finish. Chrome bores you just freeze in dry ice then press in. However if the block is warped you will always have some blowby.
I would chose chrome bores but my motor is only at 245000 km so its a very long time before it will be done
