miss after start

Postby andy120 » Tue Mar 19, 2024 4:25 am

Hi guys
My putter has started missing just after starting normally, funny that it only began doing this after i changed timing belts. took the whole front off again and the timing is correct. pulled glow plugs and they are ~2 years old, resistance ~1.3. How long is afterglow on? runs normally after 30 odd seconds and when starting warm.

first cold day and it runs like mine does every morning. Which engine? How old is your fuel? If its more than a few weeks try topping up with new fuel. Its about the time of year when they swap from summer to winter diesel. Otherwise test wireing to all glow plugs for power check tappet settings check compression
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

4jg2t does it every first start a day. will check grunt at the plugs but dont have a compression tester. diesel is 6 odd weeks old.

potentially not good. Really only 3 places water could come from. Deep water crossings is the easiest fix. Next the water to oil cooler on the filter housing last most expensive the cracked head
