Isuzu MU Diesel loss of fuel pressure

Postby namoran » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:25 pm

went to drive off one morn and the MU started fine but had no acceleration, then had to replace the diesel fuel primer and new filter (fuel primer was knackered) primed up ok and started fine, even drove well, then the following day it started again, no acceleration, primed fuel pump and away we went, later on in the day same again started fine but had no acceleration until I primed the pump, have checked all lines and connections which appear to be ok, is there anything else I should check or advice on what the problem maybe? all replys appreciated.

there is a one way valve in the injector pump that is proberly faulty allowing the fuel to drain back to the tank, you can fit a aftermarket one way valve as close to the fuel tank as possible, they are like a small fuel filter made of metal really cheap, or really tech fit a low pressure fuel pump to feed injector pump, hope that helps

these are also starting to leak at the front seal in the pump sucking air. the little pressure pump is a cheap fix till it gets worse and starts leaking diesel. Then its a full pump rebuild although one poster here did the front seal himself.
