that was a nice swap, but it sure would have been easier to just start off with a gas rodeo or trooper and then drop a diesel in, I like the jeeps as I had a 99 grand cherokee but the Isuzu's are just as nice

I would have left the engine further back. It would have saved them alot of work.

I put a 2.2 Isuzu diesel out of a rusted Chevy Luv into a 1991 Suzki side kick and it only took 3 days, what a great little car that turned out to be, the only thing I had to fabricate was engine mounts and drive shaft

I wonder if my wife would let me spend some money to put a 4JG2 T into a Suzuki Vitara now that would be cool.

they are very heavy motors for the zuks. The original engines are all alloy. Also they rev to 7000 plus with peak power around 6000. The 4jg2 would be great off the mark but be flat out before you got to 100kph. Handling would be unbalanced as well.

The SJ can be made into a nice truck. There was a rovered SJ in Wellington when I started 4wding. Front and rear steer. Lockers fiddles the works.
Theres a couple of road legal rovered Sjs in Wellington as well.

I thought the same thing Alan when I put the diesel in the sidekick that it might be too heavy but to my suprise it didn'nt lower the front end not even a inch, they must be sprung well from the factory, it was a great handling little car, pulled my 13' camper really well also, the only thing I wanted to do and never did was put a turbo on it, that would have been the cats nuts.
