Blew the reisitor again so pulled out the fan motor stripped it down bearing seized full of rust its just a cooper bush so cleanded it right up with a bit fine of wet and dry sand paper put new grease in like new now spins like a charm plus while it was a part drilled a couple of holes in the bottom caseing if any more water gets in to drain out.
With the reistor a couple of very little drops of solder good as new got all my fan speeds back but dont over do the amount of solder just a tiny bit on each of the broken ones just to hold it al good again yea.

Solder is the go! Just did this to get my fan speeds back. Still cooking up a permanent fix (pun intended).
Maybe some thermal paste and a heatsink. Or a mosfet based replacement?

Has anyone got a picture of where and how the blower motor comes out?
My resistor has blown and none of the fan speeds work :-(
Going to get a new resistor and check out the fan before I reinstall it.

Up under the dash on the passenger side foot-well the fan motor is. Just undo the screws

Thanks for the tip about the blower removal. Mine was making excessive noise and when I dropped it out I found it full of dried gum leaves.I've now put the blower removal job on the maintanence list. That was the easiest fix I've done for awhile.

my fan makes all the right noises but bugger all air is coming out.. does anyone know if there is a filter in there to replace?
I started to take it apart today but the screws where just spinning so I thought "bugger it I'll get some advice before I take the whole lot apart unnecessarily"

cheers

Check all the pipes to your vents from the fan some times they come loose and need to be reconected back up.
