Dash Lights

Postby robnz » Thu Sep 20, 2012 4:47 pm

Can anyone please help me with my problem? The dash lights in my 1998 Holden Rodeo have just come on. The low oil press, Brake and Battery lights!

I know oil is getting round the engine and the alternator is putting out. Seems strange how all 3 have come on. Need to know where first place to look is.

Cheers

check voltage when running. Should be 14 to 14.5 If ok change charge relay. If high change alternator as well
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them

Ok this is my relay box. Can anyone tell me which of these will be triggering my dash lights. I am pretty sure its the starter relay, according to the diagram. But not very clear.

It looks as if the Thermo relay has been replaced once before, and the PR FOG relay isnt installed on this model.

Test the battery voltage while the motor is running if it's below 13v your alternator is not working.

Well after much frustration, I decided to order a new voltage regulator off ebay for $20 brand new, chucked it in the alternator and wat do ya know, all dash lights now off and heater works!
