Bendex 4wd pads.

Postby millsuzu » Fri Jul 03, 2015 5:03 pm

Can anybody confirm the correct part #'s for ubs 55 2.8td
I Went in to BNT today armed with the part #'s kindly supplied on here from "Pissy" to pick up my pre ordered rear brake pads for Trevor. "Cool that's them DB1161 that's for the rear aye" .
"Nah mate, those are for the front" came the retort over the counter. After some tooing and frowing, I left feeling pretty gutted as he didn't have the other ones and would have to order them in and I wont see them for another five days.
So my question is when I do see them (the db 1116), will they actually be the front ones?

Also is it poor form to only change rear, should I be doing all 4wheels

db1116 is front 1161 rear
If you get bendix get the 4x4 in the front but standard pads in the rear.
If you dont machine the discs at the same time expect it to pull under braking untill they bed in. If your discs are badly grooved this could take some time.
Remember on the rear to wind the piston back on the adjuster (allen key inside the 12mm nut on rear of caliper.) Pushing the piston back will destroy your handbrake
get 2 packets of brake grease at the same time and lube all the caliper slides and pivots.
Do the left and right together but no need to do front and back together
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
