I know this is an old post but in my ubs69 in did the method 3 diff drop (although at the time i thought i had invented the idea.) LOL any how i have gone 40mm and slightly rotated the diff up at the back and just givin the cross member a bit of a beating with SLEDGE and made the member bolt holes a little bigger.
I have decreased cv clicking and through the whole Lower A arm range there is no CV fouling....The ubs69 does have a slightly
longer bottom arm than the mu and ubs55s . Same as the top A arm is longer to and the width from rubber bush to rubber bush is longer.where the top arm bolts to chassis...
Oh well, can some one hook up the winch i cant open my door !!!!!!!!!

It shouldn't effect your steering.

Front driveshaft should be fine after a diff drop. The distance between mounting flanges hardly changes and your driveshaft has a sliding spline area to it anyway.

what sort of suspension lift does the diff drop allow comfortably? would this mentioned option 3 method allow say another 2 inches of front suspension lift to balance it out again or not that extreme?

Haven, just another thing to consider. Make sure that you are not jacking your vehicle up so high as to reduce articulation. If you can't compress one corner of your front suspension up into it's bump stop then (in my opinion) you are losing total suspension travel and are making you vehicle less capable. there are times when articulation is more important than height. Ideally you have both, but with the Isuzu IFS it's always going to be a compromise.

yea very true thanks turn turn. im not specifically trying to get more suspension lift or restirction, merely trying to gain another 2 inches of height in some form or another to go to a bigger tyre size. just thought i'd ask as im unclear how significant the diff drop effects were..

Bit of a grave dig,
I'm about to put darlington drop brackets in my rodeo, was wondering how the cv cups come off the ends of the diff housing? I'm assuming these come off to get the brackets off.

Also as was mentioned before, if I keep my bump stop the same on the lower arm will I have issues with the cv's coming out on full compression? I already ahve the calmini upper arms and they have a low profile bump stop, but the cv's arent close to coming out under full droop at the moment.

4 bolts hold the whole diff assembly to the chassis Drop diff the take the brackets off the diff The cv shafts clip to these brackets

Aaah awesome, I was just hoping there wasnt going to be a lot of bashing to get those cv cups off the ends, if they are clipped on thats great.

Hey guys, just pulled out my mu front axle to fit the locker and thought I'd diff drop it at the same time...

In regards to method 1, adding spacers to the mount pts, is it confirmed that this causes fitting issues with other components ? Looking at it now I can't see what it might interfere with but figured there must be something or no one would have gone to the effort of cutting and welding the mounts...

Done it here, only 14 mm which means no other mods need to be done.
