You can adjust the TPS on the injector pump to the point where it will change up at real low revs. I have mine changing at between 2500-3000 RPM as that is where the engine seems to like to be.

i think from memory anti clockwise to make more sensitive, but there is also a mythical kick down cable. somewhere on the interweb was a guide to properly adjust your tps using a multimeter which is what I did, also do you drive around town with the OD on or off?

Hey Tim, Glad it helped.

Not my advice though, it was all borrowed from another forum site.

The Auto in my 95 bighorn was doing this yesterday going over the hills to Kawhia and had been doing it on the flats as well when putting the foot down coming out of corners thought I had been sold a wagon with a crook transmission. Found this thread today and it related exactly to what I was experiencing so I went out and did it but got the missus to watch for the warning light to come on while adjusting the TPS then backed it off till it stopped flashing then took it for a test run, take off from a standing start is not so sluggish now and gear changing is way better no more long pauses before changing to the next gear, is now changing between 2500 and 3000RPM instead of 3500RPM. Thanks to the OP of the thread sharing the information.
