its just a 2" lift. i had the wheel off and the axel on a stand (on lowest setting) and was jacking up the body from just infront of the wheel, had truck on 2 wheels and the 4 bricks on the jack and the axel stand were starting to move, and still not quite enough to get spring out, was i doing something wrong???
might also have to undo one side of the sway bar as well. Not sure about using bricks while jacking. They have this bad habit of shattering which would drop the car to the ground at the least advantageous time. In your case it would be just as you get the spring out of the hanger but still have your head under the car. It would cause a very severe headache
Sanding your knuckles before starting work can help. That way you cant skin them
panard rod runs across the ack of the diff from the diff to the body, yours mite not have one, if it does you will have to get a longer one or cut and weld your one
yup i see it, 50mm lift shouldn't need it extended, my last one didn't. tried jacking from the towbar and couldn't get wheels off the ground, jacked it up with three bricks got the wheels about 50mm off the ground, but as Geeves said, not keen on a big headache! ill ask the local mechanic if i can use his hoist after work tomorrow i think is my best option.
still haven't done the lift yet... but i did blank off egr and take swaybar out tonite, just about lost a nut in the exhaust manifold. but wait till you guys see them blank off's i did, good for a quick laugh haha
Geeves: I am all about cheating lol. quick and fast. thats my motto. ( as long as it works ha ha ha )
Harry. As long as it does the job it don't matta mate. I use to make a few thing for the 4JB1/4JG2 motors like blank plates, lift blocks, dump pipes and other bits until the big quake put paid to my wee garage work shop. Lost most of my big equipment in it. Drills, lathes and grinders and stuff but alas a new workshop is in the making as I write.
i SEE new monsters arising from the ashes of the old!!!!! he he he BIG evil grin.....
awesome, just to make it clear, im not harry, my truck is. Well, its been mostly tidy up on the truck, getting things working, got a left wing mirror now so i can see where im backing, new thermostat so engine warms up and can use the heater. and heres some pic of my blank off's
Well, i tried the "Raised springs" i got from BNT on the weekend, and gained maybe 5mm?? anyone else have this problem? so im looking for some legit lifted springs now
measure from the wheel center to the top of the wheel arch It may of already had raised springs I know mine is lifted but dont know how much I get 520mm
