Hi Andy,
Just wanting to know how the rear air locker from James W. went?
Any problems/issues with it, or all ok? (thinking about getting one myself).
Cheers,
Nick.

If you see a bighorn, and the exhaust smells of BBQ or fish & chips, it's probably me

At first I thought there might be an air leak, but turns out it was at the compressor, not the diff.

It's been really good, smooth open diff on road (no nasty LSD plates graunching on turns).
If in very slippery conditions and the tyres spin (mud tyres really don't help on concrete), the open diff is much more forgiving, where the LSD would kick the tail out.

Locked off-road it performs as it should, holds air pressure, locks the rear wheels together, much more solid traction feel as the rear wheels have to turn at the same speed.
Only wish I had an air locker for the front instead of my auto-locker!

Hmmm if I was re-doing the MU I'd be up for one,

But at the moment, for the price and hassle, the auto-lockers works fine :D

Great, thanks.
Just wanted to check, as some people are a bit sceptical about this sort of Chinese stuff.
If the only thing that went wrong was the air compressor, i may just get a better compressor separately.
Sounds tempting, think i will have to get the rear locker. Don't know about the front locker yet, a bit expensive to do both.
Cheers.

O sorry, I didn't get a compressor kit with my locker, just the diff & air line.
(James assembled an open diff with the locker to replace my LSD)
I did have to buy a solenoid from ARB to complete the kit. (Could use other brand or air-line switches).

I already had an ARB compressor installed, for pumping up tyres, that's where the leak was coming from.

Yea apparently the Chinese lockers for Toyotas around had quite a few issues. These ones of James' seem to be going strong though.
