Postby Isuzumu1 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 2:17 pm

I purchased the MU in May 2002, being the first Australian owner, with then 93k.
Upgrades since:-

Suspension:- An extra left and an increase of 3 inches to the rear...torison bars turned to raise the front 1.5 inches.
Tyres/Wheels:- At present I am wearing out the Cooper ST, but the Mickey Thompson MTZs will be going back on soon. The MU came with a set of Volk Power (by Rays Engeering) 16x8s
Traction Aids:- Rear LSD/front Lokka.
Spot Lights:- Narva 100
Communications:-Uniden UH400SX/Barrett 950HF with Auto Antena Turner VKE 237 Mobile 1955 (Selcall 1955)
Dual Battery;- Second battery is in the rear, bolted and strapped down and charged via the main battery.
Engine;- 4jg2, water to air intercooler, 15 lb boost, around 125 KWs and 400 NMs
Exhaust:- 3" mandrel bent
Sound System:- CD Radio MP3, USB and SD card. We yow our 1978 Viscount which has been set up for off road use.

Mus always look strange with a big caravan on the back. Not everyone knows they are plenty heavy and powerful enough to do the job.
whole rig looks nice

Yep get called the gadgetman on occasions, must be from my old Skipping days :D
Alan your right about the power of the Mu, the Viscount weights in at 1.7 ton when loaded and the she tows it without any trouble.
Hi Holden, we do not use the big one when travelling, have designated sked times so normally would not be on the move when they are on. But a very handy piece of equipment to have if travelling to remote areas especially when alone. Would be interesting if the phone started ringing and you got calls on both radios :D :)

The Co Driver has to look after the computer which runs ozexplorer and I have discoveraus on it as well, which is part of the other GPS there. the computer has it's own GPS mouse and the other GPS is a Garmin Nuvi 760 which we mainly use for street directions.

Are you planning on running a bonnet scoop? the cooler will be much better then, esp when towing the van.

I just noticed you have a "normal" handbrake, not the crappy one under the steering wheel. Is this standard for yours???
