Good evening,
Elsewhere, I read someone took apart the inside of his doors to remove the side mirrors on his MU, only to discover the mirrors must be removed from the outside of the doors. I removed the mirrors on my Japanese 1991 MU (known as an Amigo here in the US) using the following instructions:
Step 1: Acquire the correct tool. (See the first attachment.) I purchased this set of non-marring tools in Harbor Freight (a hardware store here in the USA). Grab the curved tool (attachment 2).
Step 2: Place a towel on the ground next to your door. (This will prevent parts from scratching if they fall onto your driveway.)
Step 3: (See attachments 3 and 4.) Use the tool on the top left corner, where the window is attached to the door. Place the tip between parts 11 and 15 on the diagram. Then pry.
Step 4: Place the tool on the top right corner. Then, pry. The cover (part 11 on the diagram) will fall to the ground. This will reveal two screws. (See attachment 5.)
Step 5: Remove the screws to remove the mirror.
