How has your zu evolved

Postby slightlydodgy » Sat Jul 18, 2009 6:58 pm

Was trawling through some pics the other day and thought it would be a good thread though we all know what yarno and muvit have been up to. Any way this is about a week after we bought it 3 years ago Image no bull bars and the sills sat lower than the hubs so imagine how low the transfercase was and check out the original rear suspension and tyres Image and today Image

Looks nice and mean now - Slightlydodgy
Could of mistaken it for the 2wd model with those tiny wheels.

My vx has changed a bit.
First trip around Redrocks in Wellington.

The stock suspension they come out with is fairly stiff. If you looked at the back bumpstops with the stock springs in they were very close and would hit when driving. not the best ride!

So i got it lifted. Now it rides soo much better and of course looks alot better, And of course changed the wheels on it. Ended up going with a 0 offset wheel and 265/75/16 tyres.
This pic old tyres new rims and suspension

Then of course new tyres.

How much lift did you get Sprey?
The VX is an outta it looking vehicle... like a Mu that has been through a black hole/time and emerged as something..... different...
Cheers,
Andrew

Hahah Yea half the reason i like it soo much is cause of the oddness, Tho it does get called ugly ALOT but i dont care
For the lift I used to Ome912 Rear springs and cranked up the front t-bars and did a ball joint flip i think that gave around 60mm. so around 2.5inchs then the tyres versus the stock around an inch.
All the work was done at G Guy motors in town. I have the sheet somewhere.

I lookd at buying one of them when I got my 1st MU all of ten plus years ago. only reason I didn't was the price differance. The Mu cost like 15k and the vehicross was like 25k.

I have seen a convertable 1 as well and thats an even meaner looking truck.
