Hi, I'm Phil from Christchurch. I've had my UBS55 Bighorn for about 9 months. Although this is my fisrt post, this site has been a valuable source of info for improvements to my vehicle.
Modifications and Accessories:
Suspension: Factory rear leaf springs reset with ~30mm lift squeezed out of them. Torsion bar tweak to match rear lift. Rancho 9000xl shocks
Body Lift: 25 mm with spacers from Mulford Engineering for $30.
Tyres/Wheels: Off road - 33 x 10.5 BFG Mud KM2, Road - firestone road tyres.
Traction Aids: Rear Auto lokka
Bullbar: Coming soon
Spot lights and Lighting: None
Communications/GPS: Hand Held
Dual Batteries: no
Engine: standard 2.8 tdi intercooled with boost controller, EGR valves removed, vacuum lines removed, Boost PRV removed, K&N air filter
Exhaust: Home made 2.5 inch from turbo flange with resonator
Sound system: CD/radio that turns off when on bumpy roads!
External: Airflow snorkel & flares (both were on when I got vehicle)
Internal: nothing yet
Others: AC converted to onboard air system with 4kg tank. Runs rattle gun when swapping those wheels.
20/6/10 Installed 16 inch electric radiator fan. Hopefully I'll save some fuel and keep my engine bay cleaner during dirty river crossings!
Bought a Runva 9500lb winch, will fit it soon!
